Nathan Magsig

Nathan Magsig has served on the Fresno County Board of Supervisors since 2017, representing District 5, which covers Clovis, southeast Fresno, Sanger, Auberry, and the Sierra communities. Before that he served 16 years on the Clovis City Council, including as Mayor. He holds a Master of Science in Criminology and an MBA from California State University Fresno. His priorities are reliable water supply for the Central Valley, expanded in-state energy production, and reducing the state regulations he sees as the real barriers to housing and business growth.

Why We Endorsed: Nathan Magsig is a Fresno County Supervisor, former Mayor of Clovis, and licensed general contractor with 25 years of elected service and hands-on knowledge of the water, energy, and permitting issues at the heart of NCC's agenda.

Alignment With NCC Priorities: Nathan is a licensed general contractor, which gives him a real builder's knowledge of the costs that drive housing prices. His platform on regulatory reform tracks closely with NCC's pro-growth agenda.. He supports an all of the above energy strategy that includes expanded in-state oil production, nuclear power, and small-scale reactors, which lines up with NCC's water and energy task force position on reliable and affordable supply. His endorsements include outgoing Senator Shannon Grove, all four Republican members of the Kern County Board of Supervisors, and Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood.

Senate District

12

The Race

District 12 covers Fresno, Tulare, and Kern counties, including Bakersfield, Visalia, Fresno, and Clovis. It is a strong Republican seat. The seat is open because Senator Shannon Grove is termed out and running for the State Board of Equalization. There are no Democrats on the ballot. Magsig faces fellow Republican Louis Miramontes, a Marine Corps veteran and aircraft mechanic, and Libertarian William Brown Jr., a clinical social worker. If any candidate clears 50 percent in the primary, the seat is decided outright in June. Magsig is the clear front-runner.

A New California Starts With This Slate

Together, these fourteen candidates are the slate NCC believes can move California forward in 2026. They come from cities and counties up and down the state, from different backgrounds and different parties, and from different chapters of California's story. What they share is a commitment to getting things done: finding solutions to homelessness, building the housing, securing the water and energy, and growing the middle class jobs that working Californians need now. NCC stands behind each of them, and we are asking voters in their districts to join us. The California Dream is worth fighting for, and these are the leaders who will help us bring it back within reach.
